About & me
Hi! My name is Ksenija, I’m from Belgrade, Serbia, and I am a lampworker.
I’ve always loved making things with my hands, but I never had the time to do it. During my time at university, I really enjoyed painting and sculpting. But after graduating from the Academy of Arts, I spent years in a corporate job in graphic design, spending most of my days in front of a computer screen. And even though my job at the time was creative as well, I was longing for tactile artistic expression. So, in 2012, I started making beads as a hobby. My passion for it radiated, and my beads soon found their admirers, who made it possible for me to do what I love full time. Thank you so much for your support!
All beads featured on this website are handcrafted by me, in my home studio.

Lampwork
Lampworking is a type of glasswork where a torch or lamp is primarily used to melt the glass.
Once in a molten state, the glass is formed by blowing and shaping with tools and hand movements. It is also known as flameworking or torchworking, as the modern practice no longer uses oil-fueled lamps. Although lack of a precise definition for lampworking makes it difficult to determine when this technique was first developed, the earliest verifiable lampworked glass is probably a collection of beads thought to date to the fifth century BC. Lampworking became widely practiced in Murano, Italy in the 14th century. Today, Lampworking is used to create artwork, including beads, figurines, marbles, small vessels, Christmas tree ornaments, and much more.
